Where other lesbian authors have reverted to stereotypes and one-dimensional characters, Lynch's Frenchy is vibrant and lovable, but not perfect as her life is followed through the 1950's and 1960's. The text was not as clear and concise as it could have been. I learned a lot. The book also has secondary stories about maneuvering for position through deaths and favors bestowed by disgruntled parents/aunts, etc. It is the story of Dr. I like his style of delivery, how he uses humor and animation to convey educational material.I like this book and recommend it as a fun way to get kids started reading and learn some science too!.
