In this book, readers clearly hear Erzsébet Szonyi’s own voice as she describes her journey through unimaginable joys, sorrows, and personal challenges to emerge as a muse for our age. Why are so few women composers known to the general public and even fewer of their works studied and performed? More than one musicologist told the author that they are not «famous» enough to be considered! So then, can a woman who studied with Boulanger and Messiaen, who won the coveted Paris Conservatory Prize in Composition, who received the highest awards her co

I recommend this book as a required reading for medical students, physicians and medical educators.General public will also find this book extremely enjoyable and informative. His mother is the stable one (tho she has some strange ways, also) and his father an alcoholic, though he becomes more rational as he ages. Professor Thomas Neville Bonner who is a distinguished historian and has authored several books about medical education has produced a real literary gem in "Iconoclast-Abraham Flexner and a life in learning". Jaccard has pulled an incredible amount of research into a highly readable book.. The tensions between the picaresque participants are captured with unabashed honesty, and Hunter writes with a mixture of humour and pathos. He comes from a large family and makes it easy for the reader to keep track of everyone. I liked the clarity of the author's explanations and the opportunity to learn about Flexner, a unique and historically important individual.. I have every book he ever published; every damn one of them is a trip to read, like you're sitting in a bar with this great storyteller and he cannot stop talking - and you don't want him to! Bob was a great storyteller, and this one about the first-ever Greenpeace voyage (indeed, before there even was a Greenpeace!) is as good as anything he ever wrote. That persevering vessel would be renamed en route as the Greenpeace as it continued the desp
