She wanted little girls to dare to dream of equal-opportunity and offered her career as a model and an inspiration. We are very grateful for this book.. Some authors do this well but with Ms. I have tremendous respect and admiration for the author of this book. Lakshmi's salvation comes from marriage to a kind-hearted Shankar allowing her to immigrate to the United States. While reading this banter I had the distinct feeling that it was becoming a linguistic, not a theoretical arguement. I recommend it.. It's like he's a guiding light, speaking to me about my passions from the grave. I expected a more linear narrative, but still enjoyed this memoir..
