Longson's illustrations have a murky quality, as the palette relies largely on browns, and while carefully executed, they don't inspire close or repeated examination. But things changed and I learned a much needed lesson in grace and humility.Gradually over the last ten years there has been damage to the right side of my brain. I had the original Bible Fun Books as a child. Only God can do that. For a book that frequently dips into personal accounts, it is startlingly full of information. One of the major tenets is freedom of choice--women should be free to pursue any life courses they choose unencumbered by stereotypes or traditional gender expectations--in sports or any other areas.
